My name is Alan. I founded Empire Defense & Fitness and have spent decades training, competing, and teaching adults in the Capital Region.
What I teach isn't borrowed from a curriculum. It's been tested... in competition, in real situations, and across years of watching what actually holds up when pressure is present and theory isn't enough.
My students are professionals, parents, business owners. People who take their time seriously and expect results in exchange for it. I train them accordingly.
Fast Track Self-Defense is the program I built for exactly that person.

Fast Track focuses on four things. Each one builds on the last. Together they change how you move through the world.
Most situations are decided before anything physical happens. You learn to read the room, trust your instincts, and position yourself ahead of the problem... not after it.
Stress narrows the mind. Training expands it back. You build the ability to think clearly and respond deliberately... even when the situation is not comfortable or controlled.
Every technique we teach addresses a real-world situation. Nothing is included because it looks impressive. Everything is included because it works when it counts.
What you build in training doesn't stay in the gym. Students consistently report that the shift shows up in how they carry themselves, how they make decisions, and how they handle pressure at work and at home.

Am I too old or out of shape to start?
No. Fast Track is built for adults at all fitness levels. You train at your level from day one and build from there. The program scales to you - not the other way around.
Is this safe? I have responsibilities I can't put at risk.
Safety and longevity are built into how we train. This is not reckless. It is supervised, structured, and designed to be sustained over years - not survived for a week.
I have almost no spare time. Is this realistic for me?
That is exactly who this program is for. Classes are focused and efficient. You will not be asked to rearrange your life - you will be asked to show up for one week and see what's possible.
What happens after Intro Week?

What if I feel nervous walking in?
